Use: This test helps support a diagnosis of Celiac Disease, a food sensitivity (not an allergy) to gluten, found in wheat, barley, and rye. The only way to diagnose Celiac Disease is through a gastroenterologist, who will perform a biopsy of the small intestine. Most cases of gluten intolerance are undiagnosed.  Strict avoidance of gluten in the diet will control disease activity, and antibodies to serum markers will disappear with time. Recommended For: Diagnosing and monitoring celiac disease, strong family history of gluten sensitivity. Special Notes: Patient needs to be eating gluten and cannot be on a gluten free diet as the results will be incorrect.
